Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Newly redone building in the run-down old town near the south end of Aqaba beaches. Good price for a two-bedroom room with a small kitchenette and small living room. Somehow the rooms were quite sound proof.

Negative: The staff did not speak any English. Even when the Arabic speakers in our group asked for towels, the staff did not provide towels for our whole stay. We had 6 people and only 1 towel provided, even though our booking clearly stated that we were 6 people. They said they would provide breakfast, but it was only 4 bowls of hummus/ muttabal. We had to ask for bread to even have something to dip in the hummus. By the time the bread came, we had already gone out and bought bread, as we were in a hurry to leave in the morning. The rooms also smelled of cigarette smoke. We will not be coming back to this location.

Summary: Fine location, smoke-smelling rooms, poor staff service.
