Summary: I don't think hotels.com distinguishes between rooms with or without a balcony. I reserved a Standard Room and fortunately, I was assigned one of these rooms. The balcony is wonderful, providing a 180-degree view of the town and surrounding hills.
Room and facility features and services were as advertised and as expected, consistent with the other HI hostels where I have stayed.
At check-in, I was initially asked to pay a low amount, which I believe was the cost for my first night. After I pointed it out, the clerk had to call the manager who was not onsite at that moment, and they corrected it. However, he then asked for an amount higher than my reservation. After sending a photo of my reservation and another call to the manager, I paid my reservation amount (plus the 17% VAT for Israeli citizens).
Also, I needed to extend my stay a couple of nights, which they also handled to my satisfaction.
Finally, on the first couple of days, I ate breakfast in the dining room, which was good, also consistent with breakfast I have had at other HI hostels. I was there during Passover, so the food was kosher for Passover. The kitchen staff was friendly and as helpful as they could be. It appears that they had not been informed that I had extended my stay. Because there weren't any other guests for breakfast the following day, they hadn't prepared anything. Because of medical issues, I really only wanted some matzoh, which they provided.
